More than most owners expect. Brakes, suspension, steering, drive units, cooling and tyres are all still wearing parts, and the weight of a battery pack puts more load through them than a comparable petrol car did.
No — it creates a different problem. Lightly used friction brakes can seize or corrode rather than wear out. We strip, clean and free them, replace pads where needed, and recalibrate the sensors that blend regen with friction braking.
Weight and torque. A misaligned EV eats tyres noticeably faster than a misaligned petrol car. Alignment and axle checks are the cheapest mechanical work you can do on an electric vehicle, and we do them on every inspection.
