Tesla Price in Qatar 2026: Model 3, Model Y and Running Costs

Short answer: a new Tesla in Qatar starts around QAR 135,000–145,000 for a Model 3 and around QAR 165,000 for a Model Y, with Model 3 Performance reported near QAR 205,000. Tesla sells directly here — there is no local dealer taking a margin — so the configurator price is the price. What the sticker does not tell you is the five-year number, and in Qatar that calculation works out differently than it does almost anywhere else.
This guide sets out the published prices, where the sources disagree, and what owning one actually costs once charging, insurance and servicing are included.
Tesla sells direct in Qatar, and that changes the price
Tesla opened online ordering in Qatar in late 2023 and now operates its own store and service presence in Doha, with aftersales handled through Tesla Qatar rather than a franchised dealer. DriveArabia correspondingly lists no official Tesla dealerships in the country — that is the direct-sales model working as intended, not a gap.
For a buyer this matters in two ways. There is no dealer negotiation, so the list price is what you pay. And there is no dealer network either, so for anything outside the warranty you are choosing between Tesla's own service and an independent specialist.
Tesla prices in Qatar
Published figures differ between sources and move with promotions and options. These are the ranges currently reported — confirm the current number on Tesla's own Qatar configurator before you commit, because every list below has a date on it somewhere.
- Model 3 Standard — reported at QAR 134,990, with a WLTP range figure of 534 km. DriveArabia lists the 2026 Model 3 as starting from QAR 144,990, so the two sources disagree by around QAR 10,000.
- Model 3 Long Range RWD — reported at QAR 154,990.
- Model 3 Long Range AWD — reported at QAR 174,990.
- Model 3 Performance — reported at QAR 204,990.
- Model Y — DriveArabia lists it from QAR 164,990. Other listings quote QAR 185,000–230,000 across trims, which looks like launch-period indicative pricing rather than current.
Used Teslas are widely listed in Qatar, with Model Y listings commonly falling between roughly QAR 122,000 and 210,000. Those are private and dealer sales, and the spread tells you how much condition and specification matter on a used EV.
What it actually costs to run
The purchase price is the part everyone compares. The five-year number is the part that decides whether it was a good decision.
Charging
This is where Qatar diverges from most markets. Electricity here is among the cheapest in the world, and the fuel it replaces is also among the cheapest. So the running-cost saving an EV delivers in Europe — where petrol is expensive and electricity moderate — shrinks considerably in Doha. It is still a saving. It is not the saving the international reviews describe, and anyone quoting you a European payback period is quoting the wrong market.
Servicing
A Tesla has no oil, no spark plugs, no timing belt, no exhaust and no gearbox service. What it does have is tyres, brake fluid, cabin filters, suspension, air conditioning and a 12-volt battery — and in this climate most of those wear faster, not slower. Expect lower routine cost than a comparable petrol car, but not zero, and budget for tyres sooner than you would on an equivalent saloon because of the weight and the torque.
The 12-volt battery, which nobody budgets for
The item most likely to leave a Tesla owner in Qatar stranded is not the main pack. It is the small 12-volt battery that wakes the car up. Gulf heat shortens its life considerably — a unit that would last four years in Europe often manages two or three here — and when it goes, the car does not respond at all despite showing plenty of range. It is a cheap part and a common failure. We cover it in detail in our guide to EV battery health.
Heat and the main pack
Sustained ambient heat is harder on a battery than fast charging is. A cooling circuit running below par throws no warning light and no fault code — it simply ages the pack, and the owner discovers it two or three years later as range that never comes back. An annual thermal and high-voltage check matters more in Doha than in the markets these cars were validated in. See EV batteries in Qatar's summer heat.
Model 3 or Model Y?
The gap between them in Qatar is roughly QAR 20,000–30,000 at the entry trims. The practical differences:
- Model 3 is lower, lighter and cheaper to put tyres on. It rides firmer, which on Doha's better roads is not the penalty it is elsewhere.
- Model Y buys height, boot space and a more forgiving ride. It costs a little more range for the same battery because of the frontal area, and that gap widens with the air conditioning working hard.

Before you buy: four things to check
- The current configurator price. Every figure published anywhere, including this page, is a snapshot. Tesla adjusts pricing more often than conventional makers.
- Where you will charge. If you have parking you can run a circuit to, the economics work. If you do not, you are depending on public charging, and that should be settled before the order and not after.
- The warranty terms in writing — specifically the battery mileage limit and the state-of-health threshold below which a claim is valid. That threshold is the one that catches people.
- On a used car, an independent state-of-health test. The dashboard percentage is an estimate, not a measurement. A proper test is the difference between buying a seven-year car and buying a seven-year car with a four-year battery.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a Tesla in Qatar?
Model 3 prices are reported from around QAR 134,990–144,990 depending on source, rising to about QAR 204,990 for Performance. Model Y is listed from around QAR 164,990. Confirm current pricing on Tesla's Qatar configurator — published figures go out of date quickly.
Is there an official Tesla dealer in Qatar?
No, and there does not need to be. Tesla sells directly through its own store and online ordering, with aftersales handled by Tesla Qatar. That is why price-comparison sites show no franchised dealerships.
Is a Tesla cheaper to run than a petrol car in Qatar?
Yes, but by less than in most countries. Qatar has very cheap electricity and very cheap fuel, so the running-cost gap that drives EV adoption elsewhere is narrower here. Savings come more from reduced routine servicing than from the energy bill.
Can an independent workshop service a Tesla in Qatar?
For wear items, accident and cosmetic damage, tyres, air conditioning, 12-volt faults and diagnostics, yes — and doing so does not void your warranty. A manufacturer can decline a claim on a component where independent work caused the failure, which is a different thing. Keep every invoice.
What is the most common Tesla problem in Qatar?
A flat 12-volt battery, by a wide margin. It presents as a completely dead car — no screens, no door unlock — while the main pack still shows plenty of charge. Heat is the reason it happens here sooner than the service schedule assumes.
