Trim names change by market: in Australia and the UAE the car is sold as the Premium and the Performance. CarExpert lists the Australian car with an 82.56 kWh battery, 482 km WLTP and 150 kW DC charging. BYD UAE's official page quotes 482 km WLTP for rear-wheel drive and 456 km for all-wheel drive, the same figures as the European Comfort and Design.

According to BYD's European specification, the Sealion 7 is 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, on a 2,930 mm wheelbase. The boot holds 520 litres, rising to 1,789 litres with the rear seats folded, and there is a 58-litre front storage compartment under the bonnet.

On paper, the Sealion 7 covers 456 km to 502 km on the WLTP cycle. Real driving returns less: in its December 2025 review, CarExpert found that the Australian car, rated at 482 km WLTP, delivered roughly 400 km of real-world range at about 16.5–18 kWh/100 km, and judged its efficiency to be behind rivals. Treat about 400 km as a planning figure rather than a promise.
Charging times
Most versions accept up to 150 kW on a DC fast charger, and BYD quotes 32 minutes for a 10–80% charge. The European Excellence, with its larger 91.3 kWh battery, accepts up to 230 kW and cuts that to 24 minutes. On AC, every version accepts up to 11 kW.

Is the BYD Sealion 7 800V?
It depends on the market. We could not confirm an 800V system for the European versions from BYD's official information. In Thailand, the MY2026 AWD Ultimate launched in August 2026 is officially described as an "800V" car, with a 91.39 kWh Blade battery and 230 kW DC charging, as reported by Autolife Thailand. Its quoted 600 km range is an NEDC figure, which cannot be compared with WLTP.

BYD announced the European Blade battery warranty extension in January 2026. Some third-party reports quote a much higher UAE battery distance, but BYD UAE's own benefits page states 8 years or 200,000 km, and that is the figure to rely on.
